Three NFL players recently visited Egypt to enjoy a vacation in the warm weather of Cairo while visiting touristic attractions and archeological sites. The players are the Cleveland Browns’ tight end Austin Hooper, the Indianapolis Colts’ full back Roosevelt Nix and the Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Kevin Hogan.

During their stay, the players have visited many attractions all around Egypt from the Great Pyramids of Giza to the temples of Luxor according to a press release by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.

The honorable U.S Ambassador Jonathon R. Cohen has extended an invitation to EFAF for a private gathering at his residence with the NFL players along with Egyptian Olympic athlete, Karam Gaber. Representing the affiliation was the Director of Football Development; Mohy Omar along with representatives from the Cairo Wolves and Eagles Athletic Club.

Throughout the gathering, the guests talked all about football and discussed the leagues. As a token of appreciation, the Egyptian Federation of American Football gifted the NFL players jerseys from our home teams and the Pharaohs as well as a football with the logos of our 8 teams.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that the U.S embassy has shown support to the American Football in Egypt.Over the years, the lines of communication were always open starting with embassy representatives attending an ENFL game back in 2017.

The players’ visit to Cairo comes within the framework of efforts exerted for promoting tourism. The gathering at the embassy will also definitely further strengthen the relations between both parties.
