The Cairo Hellhounds recovered from last week’s loss, and came into week 5 strong and focused to earn their first season win against the Eagles Athletic Club. 

The Eagles Are Recovering 

The Eagles’ offensive unit has delivered a good performance this week, especially in comparison to last weeks. QB Mohamed Sadek was able to achieve 124 passing yards, 4 first downs and 2 passing touchdowns, which currently puts him among best QB performers from week 5. 

The running game was still pressured by the Hounds’ defense, but both running backs were able to gain an average of 40 yards each and 5 first downs combined. 

Their defense was also putting pressure on the Hounds with 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 deflection, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception. 

During the first half, the Eagles put the first score of the game with a 13 yards pass to Youssef Geith, they then scored again in the second quarter with a 53 yards pass to Mohamed El Wazir. 

The Hounds’ offense stands out 

The Hounds’ QB Yassin Sherif has delievered the performance of his career, coming out of the game with a 79% completion rate and 176 passing yards. 

While most QBs struggle this season, Yassin has been an exception. After week 3, Yassin is leading in passing yards with a total of 311 yards.

The Hounds’ defense also delivered a respectable performance with 5 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and 3 deflections. 

During the first half, the Hounds scored a 32 yards pass to Haitham Youssef after the eagles put their score, followed by a conversion point, the Hounds were still leading by 7-6 points. 

Before the half ended, the Hounds once again scored after the Eagles with a 9 yards run by Saif Hatem to once again remain in the lead with 15-13 points. 

The second half however showed more defensive dominance, but the Hounds managed to secure their win with another touchdown in the 4th quarter with a 7 yards pass to Haitham Youssef. The Hounds earned their 22-13 win over the Eagles. 

They currently rank second with one win and one loss, while the Eagles go all the way to fourth place with 2 losses and a win.
